ArcelorMittal planted new trees

Borough of Ostrava-Poruba has planted 77 new trees with the support of ArcelorMittal Ostrava. The borough is trimmed with alder, maple and oak trees and from the coniferous trees there are pine trees and even sequoias. Poruba gained the trees thanks to the event that was launched by ArcelorMittal Ostrava last year. For every one hundred plastic cups that visitors of the festival threw into special garbage bags the company promised to plant one tree in the Ostrava region.

Poruba’s town hall used 77 trees and 23 bushes in order to revitalize the space of 2.1 hectar stretching between Pustkovecká and Martinovská street nearby the busy street with tram transport. ArcelorMittal meets its promises even in spite of the serious impacts of the economic crises.
