Instead of Plastic Pots from Music Festival Increases 1111 New Trees

Ostrava, July 15, 2008 – 1111 trees plant out ArcelorMittal Ostrava till July next year in Ostrava. Before festival Colours of Ostrava steelmakers promised that on behalf of every hundred of beverage plastic pots which will be collected in course of music action plant out one tree. “111 000 plastic pots were collected in course of music action. We add one tree on the top of it to better remember for all who want to know if we keep our word,” says ArcelorMittal Press Secretary Ms. Věra Breiová.

ArcelorMittal Ostrava informed already in advance about its intention council members of Ostrava and neighbouring towns and villages. There is a big interest in trees planting in neighbouring communities. For example in Radvanice and bartovice we plant out the first trees in the Dalimil Park in late September,” notes Ms.Věra Breiová.

The planting of 1111 trees would be finished till the beginning of next festival Colours of Ostrava. “It is a new approach to continuation of our company to living environment in our region. We invest more then one milliard crown in dust exhaust and desulphurisation of flu gas in this year as well. We established also a new position on top management – Living Environmental Director. We became the first company in Czech Republic which shifted the matter of environmental policy in direct contact with top management,” says Věra Breiová.
