Unveiling memorial stone in Havířov

Today, a memorial stone was unveiled in Havířov to commemorate a new tree alley that was planted here along the main avenue. ArcelorMittal Ostrava has contributed to the first half of the alley, made up by 52 hornbeams, with more than 1 million CZK.

52 hornbeams from Haviřov’s tree alley are part of total 1111 trees that the mill promised to plant in Ostrava region after last year’s music festival Colours of Ostrava. “It’s a continuation of our company’s new approach to the environment in the region. Besides planting trees we started implementing several large and small-scale projects in order to improve local environment,” explains Chief Green Officer, Petr Baranek.

So far, ArcelorMittal Ostrava has planted 389 trees in Ostrava region.
